Course Description
As anyone who is coeliac or who cooks for someone who has a gluten intolerance will testify, it can be challenging to produce really delicious, balanced meals. Help is on hand in the form of this intensive half-day course.
Here at Ballymaloe Cookery School we continue to add to our treasure trove of delicious gluten free recipes. Suitable both for the newly-diagnosed coeliac, who has never baked before, as well as the more experienced cook, this course is ideal for those on a gluten-free diet who face the dilemma of longing to taste ‘real’ food.
You’ll learn about a whole range of delicious and easy-to-prepare dishes including gluten-free sweet and savoury pastry.
Suddenly, cooking for coeliacs will become a pleasure not a chore. Advice on alternative ingredients and lots of baking tips will help take the mystery out of successful gluten-free cooking.

The prestigious Ballymaloe 12 WeekCertificate Course is run three times a year, with courses beginning in January,April or May, and September.
The course is aimed at anyone with a passionate interest in food. Many of our students use the course as a springboard to become a professional chef; others use it to equip themselves with a marketable skill.
Others still take the course simply to maximize the pleasure they get from cooking at home.
Students develop a deep and detailed understanding of food and how it is produced. The emphasis is on recognising the best ingredients and knowing how to showcase them.
