Harrison Gardner is a builder, teacher and co-founder of Common Knowledge, the non-profit social enterprise focused on sharing skills for a sustainable life.

Harrison has 15 years experience designing and managing the construction of conventional, sustainable and alternative buildings worldwide. His current focus is on empowering individuals to become the solution to their problems by teaching the core construction principles and techniques needed to build more efficient, affordable and sustainable structures. He has published his first book entitled BUILD YOUR OWN, instructing owner-builders on the fundamentals of construction, and is the host of Build Your Own Home, a four-part RTE television series which follows the trials and tribulations of homeowners from across Ireland, as they take on the challenge of building their own home. He is currently filming season 2 of this series.

Harrison will lead a classroom session followed by a Q&A which will cover the fundamentals of construction, no matter what material you are building with. You'll leave this session with an understanding of load dispensation, the strengths of different materials and the history of construction.

Others still take the course simply to maximize the pleasure they get from cooking at home.

Students develop a deep and detailed understanding of food and how it is produced. The emphasis is on recognising the best ingredients and knowing how to showcase them.
