Macroom Buffalo has Ireland's first and largest herd of free roaming, grass fed, Water Buffalo on the muddy green fields of Clonclud, just outside Macroom in West Cork. Each day we take fresh Water Buffalo Milk and produce fresh cheese, right here on our family farm. We produce a variety of cheeses including Mozzarella, Ricotta, Greek Style Cheese, Burrata and Cypriot Style Grilling Cheese. All Irish, vegetarian and 100% natural cheese, totally free from any artificial additives, colouring or preservatives. Deliciously mild smooth perfection straight from our farm to your fork!
Water Buffalo can often be a little nervous when milking, not our Macroom Buffalo though! We go to great lengths every single day, to ensure that our Water Buffalo are as comfortable as possible. We have mechanical back-rubbers installed in our milking area (they just love to be scratched!) and our milking process is nice and slow.
